User Sources

The Workflow 8 Administration Console's User Sources node enables you to configure users and groups for Workflow 8. There are three types of users or groups that Workflow 8 can interact with.

• Laserfiche
• Active Directory 
• Local Windows accounts

There are four ways that Workflow 8 can interact with users or groups. Workflow 8 can:

• Assign Laserfiche repository rights to a user or group.
• Send an e-mail to a user or group.
• Route a Laserfiche entry to a user or group's folder. More info.
• Assign Workflow 8-specific permissions and access rights to a user or group. More info.

Workflow 8 will only interact with Laserfiche and Active Directory users or groups that appear in the User Sources node. 

To add an Active Directory as a user source

1. In the console tree pane, expand a Workflow Server.



2. Expand the User Sources node.

   

3. Right-click Active Directory.

4. Select Create a new user source.

5. In the Create New Provider dialog box, enter an Active Directory's domain and display name.

   

6. Select an authentication method.
7. Select OK. The new user source will appear in the Workflow 8 Administration Console's center pane.

To add a Laserfiche repository as a user source

• Define the repository using the Workflow Subscriber Configuration Utility.
